Exploring Collage Supply List
I mainly use Jacksons Art and Amazon. The products are mostly universal so readily available in your local art store.
Please bring…
• Acrylic Paints
I recommend you work with what you have. You may have some already, so all you need to do is to ensure you have a range of transparent and opaque colours, plus white and black that are fluid/heavy body (tube) *If you have Heavy Body you may find some of the colours stiff to roll out. They just need a little matte medium to loosen them, or mx them with another looser paint.
• Acrylic ink black. (Other colours are useful)
• Matte medium and soft gel medium (for sticking)
• Charcoal pencils/ sticks/graphite sticks /soft drawing pencils
• A quantity of lightweight paper- Copy paper and newsprint plus some smooth medium weight sheets
• Wet Strength Tissue
• Masking tape -low tack
• Scissors
• Dishcloth / baby wipes
• Ruler
• Protective gloves and overall
• A range of brushes fine broad and fan
• Printing tools from household recycling e.g. food trays, tubes, lids, pots, natural or botanical items
Good to have but not essential for the course…
• Roller/brayer
• Cutting mat and sharp knife
• Foam sheets for making stamps
• Wax crayons, pastels, coloured pencils
• Acrylic pens eg Posca
• Sponges
• A gell plate would be great if you have one, or if you are thinking of splashing out on one. GelliArts plates
N.B. As always bring what you can and don’t feel the need to buy something you will not use in the future.
